West Rouge players are gearing up for World Cup

Teenage players prepare for international play

Two West Rouge Storm players are preparing for World Cup qualification.

Lacey Warner plays for the under-17 girls Canadian national team pool.

Arin King also plays for the under-17 pool and is currently with the Trinidad and Tobago team since she holds a passport for that country.

Both players will likely play against each other in qualifying rounds.

Warner recently completed a week-long training camp with players from all over Canada. The camp prepared the team for the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) World Cup qualification this summer.

Trinidad and Tobago will host the 2008 CONCACF Women's under-17 championship from July 17 to 26 at Bacolet's Dwight Yorke Stadium and Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya, Trinidad.

The eight-team tournament will have two groups of four during the first round of play from July 17 to 21. The semifinals and finals are set for July 24 to 26.

The CONCACAF Women's U-17 championship will have Canada, Mexico and the U.S. from the north zone, Costa Rica, El Salvador from Central America, Jamaica and Puerto Rico from the Caribbean.

The CONCACAF championships will qualify three teams to the inaugural FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup New Zealand in October.
