Two Scarborough swimmers will be competing at the 2nd FINA World Junior Championship in Monterrey, Mexico from July 8 to 13.
Scott Jessett, 18, and Paige Schultz, 16, are members of Swimming Canada's 24-member junior team.
The competition features the world's best developing swimmers and future Olympians for female athletes aged 14 to 17 and males 15 to 18 years old.
Jessett is a distance freestyle swimmer who swims for the Scarborough Swim Club. He placed 7th at the 2008 Olympic trials in the 1500m freestyle.
Schultz is a individual medley (IM) specialist who swims for the Toronto Swim Club. She placed 6th at the 2008 Olympic trials in the 200m IM.
