Good Samaritans to the rescue

On Oct. 23, I was walking south along the east side of Bayview Avenue and turned at the corner of McRae Drive. For some reason I tripped on the sidewalk and fell flat on my face.

Immediately, my nose started to bleed heavily and I could not get up. I was bruised and in shock. I heard voices and two people stopped their cars and came over with boxes of Kleenex to help. Apparently others came by with wet towels and more Kleenex.

One gentleman whose name I don't remember had me lean against him while I sat on the sidewalk to help stop the bleeding. The other woman named Marianne phoned an ambulance and called my son.

Luckily, I had no fractures - but there were two black eyes, a goose egg on my forehead and a sprained wrist.

Marianne phoned my son two weeks later to see how I was and when I called back she offered to help in any way.

Thank you, kind strangers.

Frances Craig
