Toronto Community News reaches more than 1,000,000 households weekly through its family of ten publications and a range of information and advertising services. As a leading Toronto based media outlet with a focus on local news, we take our responsibility seriously to support community organizations and initiatives that help make Toronto a great place to live and work.
Toronto Community News’ support takes the form of donated advertising space in our publications. We also offer not for profit rates on display and classified advertising and flyer distribution in our papers. Toronto Community News does not provide monetary donations or sponsorships.
Toronto Community News annually provides over $600,000 in donated advertising for a variety of organizations and activities in the City of Toronto.
Toronto Community News Does Not Support the Following:
Interested applications should apply for support in one of two categories Community Partnership or Sponsorship based on the following criteria. Organizations are eligible for support in only one category per year.
To be considered for support, the organization must be a recognized not for profit organization operating in the City of Toronto or a branch operation of a national or provincial organization that provides programs or services to residents of Toronto in one of the areas of interest for Toronto Community News.
Quarterly deadlines apply for the program.
Applications received after the deadline date will not be considered.
Decisions on support under the Community Partnership program are made by an Employee Committee of Toronto Community News. The decision of the committee is final. Applicants will be advised in writing and an agreement drawn up between Toronto Community News and the organization receiving support under the Community Partnership program.
The maximum amount of contributed advertising support under this program is $25,000 with the specific amount to be determined based on a review of the application and the nature of the initiative.
Once approved, the applicant will be contacted by Toronto Community News Manager of Sponsorship and marketing to discuss a specific advertising plan.

Sponsorship is recognized as an integral part of Toronto Community News marketing and community relations activities and the decision to provide sponsorship support is determined by one or more of the following considerations:
Requests for advertising support exceeding $25,000 will be considered a sponsorship application and assessed in the light of the above criteria. Both not for profit and commercial activities are eligible for support in this category. Request for sponsorship support will be accepted at any time but should be submitted a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks prior to the start of the proposed project or event. Sponsorship applications should include similar information requested in the Community Partnership application form but with particular emphasis on how the sponsorship meets the criteria as outlined.
