This letter is regarding food banks in Canada.
I and my husband John live in the Grace Hartman Housing Co-op just off Morningside Avenue. We have lived here for 20 years. The builders were still on site when we moved in, and we have upgraded our home in the last 20 years.
Part of the co-op membership is participation, and we have willingly given of our time and our help.
John and I are grateful for our home which we tend with loving care.
We contribute to food banks, but it makes my blood boil when the government of this proud, rich country of Canada condones them.
Our federal government stands proudly with millions of dollars of help in donations to other countries, but children here in Canada are hungry. Families are hungry.
Every politician regardless of party should hang their heads in shame for the poverty and starvation that is living comfortably in this our proud and lovely Canada.
