While Premier Dalton McGuinty and his gang tell us not to worry, given his credibility all of us need to worry and hang on to our wallets.
Ontario's economic strength, as measured by the gross domestic product per capita, has now slipped to fourth in Canada. We now are behind not only Alberta (understandable) but Saskatchewan and Newfoundland.
Stop the Newfie jokes now, something is rotten here.
We know McGuinty was wrong anecdotally, now we know he is wrong factually as well. Ontario is no longer the greatest province, we are just merely average. This has happened over his watch and he is responsible for this made-in-Ontario 'almost' recession.
What a great trade by the people of Ontario - an economic disaster in the billions in order that we don't fund religious schools to the tune of a few million. If we keep making trades like that we could all apply to be the new GM of the Maple Leafs.
