Four Toronto athletes are swinging into their second season of camp.

The North Toronto Baseball Camp was formed by Jeremy Weisz, Gabe Diamond, Alex Day and Lee Berger.

"As their coaches, the campers look up to us," Weisz said. "We teach them that baseball is about more than hitting home runs and striking batters out; it's about how you respect and trust your teammates."

The camp is open to all skill levels and runs during July and August.

Weisz, Diamond and Day all have all-star baseball experience and National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) while Berger has entrepreneurial experience.

"We felt that growing up playing organized sports like baseball really shaped our personalities and taught us about sportsmanship and teamwork," Diamond said.

Pierre Cote, coach for the North Toronto AA peewee team and associate professor, faculty of medicine, University of Toronto, said the camp's founders are outstanding coaches.

"While their knowledge of baseball is at a very high level, they are very creative with young kids who are learning the fundamentals of catching, throwing and hitting."
