Gas is non-renewable
In response to Glenn William's question, "Why do we continue to put up with it?"
Let me say it's your own fault. Gas isn't something that's simply pumped out of the ground. It has to be refined from oil, a non-renewable commodity. The more that's used, the faster it's depleted, hence, higher prices for the existing supply.
If Williams and other drivers want cheap gas, perhaps they should consider moving to Venezuela, where gas is only $0.12/gallon (US) or
$0.04/litre (CDN). And if he still thinks Canadian oil companies are gouging the consumer, then he can try tanking up in the Netherlands, where gasoline is $6.48/gallon (US) or $1.99/litre (CDN).
